Facilities
These are facilities that can be booked by members of the public for various purposes ranging from daytime events, which apply to both uMsunduzi and Ncome, to overnight accommodation, which is available at Ncome Museum in the form of the Ncome Lodge.
Halls
uMsunduzi Museum Hall can accommodate more than 200 people and the Ncome Museum multipurpose hall has carrying capacity of about 500 people.
Memorial church
The memorial church accommodates more than 200 people.
Parking
uMsunduzi site has plenty of undercover parking space which is available for rental on a daily and monthly basis.
Ncome Lodge
The Ncome Lodge offers visitors a quintessential countryside experience characterized by a kind of serenity ideal for sitting back to unwind - taking it all in - or you can opt for an afternoon or morning walk in the tranquil natural and built historical and heritage environs. The ambiance, characterised by both traditional Zulu and Sotho features and modern attributes, engulfs you as you enter our traditional Zulu beehive hut chalets. The chalets are adorned with state-of-the-art modern finishes and creature comforts such as air conditioners, TV sets and DSTV. This guarantees a carefree home-away-from-home experience which we continually endeavour to offer to our visitors. For your safety, our rooms are also fitted with smoke detectors and fire extinguishing sprinklers. The Lodge is fully secure, with 24-hour security personnel. We also have fully-equipped self-catering houses suitable for families and small groups. These are also fire-safe.
Our facilities are located in a serene environment suitable for all kinds of retreats for individuals and groups looking for a place to meditate and unwind and families looking to spend time away from familiar and banal home environment. The facilities are also suitable for more formal business meetings as well as activities such as writers’ and artists’ residences. This is also an ideal venue for small group strategic planning workshops, conferences and seminars.
Curio Shops
Both uMsunduzi and Ncome Museums run curio shops where our visitors can purchase souvenirs or mementos ranging from locally produced art and craft items to items representative of the general culture and ethos of South Africa in all its diversity.
Restaurant
Our restaurant serves meals-on-request to overnight guests and also caters for walk-in customers.
Picnic Facilities
Our guests are also welcome to throw parties and prepare their preferred culinary delicacies using our picnic facilities which are equipped with barbeque/braai stands, bomas for shelter, seats and table tops.
